Ravens return to The Bowl having gone four matches without defeat
FC Isle of Man have a chance to extend their current unbeaten run to five games when they head back into action in the NWCFL Premier Division tomorrow evening.
Returning off the back of four matches without defeat, the Manx side will play host to Cheadle Town at The Bowl on Saturday (14 September).
A much-changed 'Ravens' side secured an impressive 2-1 victory away at high-flying Ramsbottom United on Tuesday night.
Manager Paul Jones was asked if the performances of some newer faces in the squad in that game might have some of the regular players sweating over their places:
Just three points separate both teams heading into this weekend's showdown with FC Isle of Man sitting in 12th on 15 points compared to Cheadle Town's tally of 12 four places lower in the standings.
A recent upturn in results during this month has seen 'The Ravens' claim two wins and two draws in the first two weeks of September.
Maximum points at The Bowl on Saturday could see them rise to as high as eighth in the table depending on results around them.
However, Jones will likely be wary that his side tasted defeat against Cheadle Town both home and away during the previous campaign.
A 95th minute Lee Knight header earned Cheadle a last-gasp win at The Bowl on 25 November last year before a Wealth Dasilva-Olajide double helped them to a 3-2 victory over the Island outfit in the reverse fixture at Park Road Stadium on 16 March this year.
Jake Davies' team are currently without a win in five matches in all competitions whilst their goals total of eight in the league is the joint-second lowest in the division so far.
FC Isle of Man vs Cheadle Town takes place at The Bowl this Saturday (14 September) kicking-off at 6pm.
Manx Radio will be providing full live match commentary on our DAB and AM1368 channels.
