FC IoM manager thinks more is to come ahead of Barnoldswick Town trip

Paul Jones convinced of team's potential ahead of latest test on Saturday (28 Sept)

Having bounced back to winning ways in midweek, FC Isle of Man are back on the road in the NWCFL Premier Division this weekend.

The latest test for 'The Ravens' sees them face Barnoldswick Town at the Silentnight Stadium on Saturday (28 September) with the Manx side looking to maintain their current charge on the promotion play-off spots.

Manager Paul Jones says it's pleasing to have seen a strong run of results from his side this month so far, even if the performances themselves haven't been perfect.

What's more, he feels there's still plenty more to come from his players both this weekend and in the long-run this season:

The Island side's narrow 2-1 win at Abbey Hey on Tuesday evening means they remain firmly in contention towards the top and just one point off the promotion play-off positions heading into this weekend.

Maximum points for Paul Jones' side tomorrow in Lancashire could take them as high as third depending on results elsewhere.

Barnoldswick Town sit seven points adrift of their impending visitors down in 16th spot, however they are one of a several sides with numerous games in hand due to cup commitments in recent weeks.

They've only played ten league games so far - the joint-fewest along with West Didsbury & Chorlton - which is five games less than FC Isle of Man have played at this stage.

In the four meetings between the two teams to date it's 'Barlick' who edge the head-to-head with two victories to FC Isle of Man's one whilst there was one entertaining 3-3 draw at The Bowl in Douglas in the first ever meeting of the sides back in September 2022.

The last encounter of the two clubs was at this weekend's venue where a Gareth Hill brace helped the home side to a 5-2 win over the Manx outfit on 13 April this year.

Barnoldswick Town vs FC Isle of Man will kick-off at the Silentnight Stadium tomorrow at 2pm.
