Eight from eight for Athletic

It’s eight wins from eight for Douglas Athletic who are now 10 points clear at the top of JCK Division Two.

They are threatening to turn the race for the title into a procession, despite being given a scare by Colby.

Danny O’Hare and Mark Wolfenden grabbed the goals as they won 2-1.

Steven Kelly pulled one back.

Castletown and Pulrose shared six goals in an exciting contest at the Stadium.

A late Ashley Sansbury penalty rescued a point for the hosts who trailed after taking the lead through Richard Foden.

Peter Dunn equalised for the visitors before Paddy Cooper restored the home side’s advantage.

Dale Walker and the prolific David Skillen then turned the match in Pulrose’s favour before the late leveller from the penalty spot – a decision which angered the visitors.

There was a shock scoreline at Ballafletcher as Douglas Royal put 12 past Michael without reply.

Ross McWhinney hit four, Craig Dolman three, Gareth Gawne two, while Aaron Quinn, Andrew Lancaster and Kenny Cowin also scored one each in the demolition.

Braddan reclaimed second spot with a 2-0 win at Foxdale - Andy Glover was again on target with one of the goals for the visitors.

Gymns saw off battling Malew 4-2 at Tromode, thanks to goals from Dan Kewley, Nick Bowden, Mike Travers and Barry Hardinge.

Jack Powell grabbed a double for the southsiders.

Rob Callow, Ben Kelly, Rob Byrne (two) and Jared Cunningham were on target as Onchan saw off ever improving Governors Athletic 5-2.

Sean Dodd and Jamie Bridson replied.
