Douglas whip Wallasey

Douglas underlined their promotion from South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two with a 62-6 win away at struggling Wallasey.

The Manx side led 19-3 at half-time, thanks to a first half hat-trick from Niall Killey and two conversions from Bryn Snellgrove.

In the second half, Douglas really opened up and skipper Scott Goodall led the way with a hat-trick of his own.

There were also two tries from Steve Tansell and one apiece from Glyn Hooson-Owen and Carl Markle-Ferns.

Bryn Snellgrove’s ever reliable boot secured a further four conversions as Douglas aimed to close the gap on leaders Sefton.

Vagabonds beat Liverpool Collegiate 19-12 at Ballafletcher keeping them well on course for a top five finish.

The visitors actually led 5-0 at half-time but in the second half Vagabonds upped their game with tries from Ryan Windell, James Clarke and Mark McGreal, who also kicked a conversion, as did Aiden O’Shea.

The win lifts Vagas into fourth place.

Ramsey beat Dukinfield 26-17 at Mooragh Park to ease their relegation worries after fellow strugglers Oldershaw, Wallasey and Marple all lost.

Early tries from Mikey Craine and Tynan Pritchard, plus an Andy Cleator conversion, gave Ramsey a 12-0 lead inside 10 minutes.

Dukinfield hit back with tries from Michael Kelly and Mark Ward until a Cleator penalty secured Ramsey a 15-10 half-time lead.

Ward’s second try, converted by Dave Whitham, gave Dukinfield the lead early in the second half.

However, Ramsey responded with a super solo try from Lance Wyllie and two further Cleator penalties to take the spoils.
