Douglas rounded off 2008 with a very tight 6-5 home win over Ruskin Park in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two.
After a scoreless first half, Douglas took the lead in the 53rd minute with a Bryn Snellgrove penalty.
Mike Farrelly scored a try for the visitors in the 59th minute to take the lead 5-3.
They didn’t hold onto it for long though and Snellgrove bagged his second penalty of the game to give Douglas the lead 6-5 just four minutes later.
Douglas put the shutters up for the remaining time and hung on for a win when Ruskin Park’s Stuart Fisher missed a long range penalty with the last kick of the game.
