Douglas climb another place

Vagas down but far from out

Douglas won 36-21 away at struggling Rochdale and moved up another place in North One West in the process.

They now sit in a fine sixth place in the table as they approach the halfway mark in their campaign.

Carl Murray returned from injury with two tries and there were also tries from Carl Markl-Ferns, Max Singer, James Maddrell and paceman Adam Boyd.

The ever reliable Bryn Snellgrove converted three.

Vagabonds lost 41-0 at home to Oswestry in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two but there were some encouraging signs from the team to suggest things are finally starting to improve.

Oswestry led 17-0 at half-time with tries from Scott Smith (two) and Luka Owen-Youens who also converted one.

Smith completed his hat-trick in the second half to secure the bonus point and, as Vagas tired in the closing stages, Connor Blair ran in two and Rory Kershaw celebrated his first team debut with a try.

Ramsey’s crippling injury list brought their winning streak to a shuddering end at Prenton where they lost 35-0 in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Three (South).

The makeshift side toiled in the heavy conditions but to no avail.

The only consolation for Ramsey is that they retain third place in the table.
