More success for Irish MGP contingent
A consistent performance from Darryl Tweed meant the Nothern Irishman took home the Ultra Lightweight MGP trophy.
A 3 lap race meant none of the racers stopped for refueling, and Tweed was able to steadily increase his lead throughout the race.
By the 2nd lap Tweed led with Tom Snow in 2nd and Daniel Ingham in 3rd.
Tweed stretched ahead by 50 seconds, and by the end of the lap Tweed led by 1 minute and a second ahead of Snow. But instead of Ingham, it was Andrew Cowie in 3rd place.
By the 3rd and final lap Tweed remained comfortably in the lead. Snow was in 2nd behind by a more narrow 22 seconds, and Cowie still in 3rd, behind by 10 seconds.
And flying back to the grandstand Tweed won the Supporters Club Ultra Lightweight MGP Race.
At the end he was 29.5 seconds ahead of 2nd placed Snow. And Manxman Andrew Cowie was 7.2 seconds behind in 3rd place.
