Double Irish road race champion set for first TT

Keelim Ryan will contest both supersport races in 2023

Double Irish Road Race Champion, Keelim Ryan will make his TT races debut in 2023.

The 35-year-old will contest to the two supersport races on the Snaefell Mountain Course this summer riding his own Kawasaki ZX-6R.

In 2022, the County Offaly man claimed the top titles for the Irish Senior Support and Lightweight Supersport Championships.

On board the Kawasaki machine he'll use on the Isle of Man, Ryan took wins in the Senior Support Championship at Kells Road Races, the Faugheen 50 and Armoy Road Races last year as well as podium finishes at Cookstown, Walderstown and Skerries.

Furthermore, he's competed at the Wanganui and Paeroa road circuits in New Zealand where he rode for a team managed by two-time TT winner, Shaun Harris.

Speaking about making his TT debut in 2023, Ryan says whilst he previously anticipated another full season in Ireland first, previous insurance issues for racing there have brought his plans forward.

He adds he hasn't set goals in terms of speed or results, but rather the main aim is to get as many laps in as possible to learn the course.

Before heading to the Isle of Man, Ryan will contest the Irish Championship races at Bishopscourt and Kirkistown over Easter weekend before the Cookstown 100 later this month.
