Dolman stuns Marown; Ayre go top

Douglas Royal produced a superb fightback to show just why they’re title contenders in CFS Division Two.

They won 5-4 at leaders Marown to close the gap at the summit.

And the victory was even more impressive as they trailed 3-0 at one stage.

Craig Dolman was the star of the show with a hat-trick.

He pulled one back just before the break which set the scene for a super second half from the visitors.

Dave Skillen and Mark Dunn netted the others as Marown – who scored through Paul Bratty (two), Kenny Magee and Dan Jones - were knocked off the top.

That place is now taken by Ayre United after they hit Colby for six to end the southerners’ faint promotion aspirations.

A double from James Teare, plus one apiece from Matthew Montgomery, Phil Quayle, Paul Kennish and Tony Corlett, ensured an emphatic result for the Tangerines.

Andy Glover was the hero for Foxdale who were given a fright by Ramsey Youth Centre but emerged 3-2 winners at Billy Goat Park.

Glover struck a hat-trick to take the plaudits.

Steven Oates and Glenn McGovern found the net for Youth Centre in the second half but it wasn’t enough to earn a point.

Braddan secured a fine 3-1 win at Pulrose, thanks to goals from Jamie Johnson (two) and Geoff Murphy.

Craig Cowen was the home scorer.

Onchan’s encouraging season continued as they saw off bottom club Douglas and District 6-1.

Neil Starkey (two), Paul Whitley, Craig Marsh and John Quaye were among the Onchan scorers.
