Manx team sweep past Malta for third straight win

The Isle of Man Women's T20 cricket squad have secured their place in the final of this year's Women's Continental Cup in Romania after a seven-wicket victory over Malta this afternoon (5 August).

After big wins over Greece and Romania yesterday (4 August), Malta were first to bat this morning setting a score of 95-5 in the first innings during which there were two wickets apiece for the Isle of Man from Alanya Thorpe and Catherine Perry.

The Isle of Man then went in to bat and managed to catch the target set by Malta within 8.4 overs to take victory with a score of 97-3.

Among the highlights were another half-century for Lucy Barnett who went on to finish on 53 not out off 27 balls.

The Manx side's third straight win in the round robin phase means they'll progress to the final of the event tomorrow (6 August) where they'll take on Greece.
