Big events nearly here!

The build-up to three days of top quality motorcycle trials riding here in the Isle of Man is almost over.

Tomorrow morning, the final round of the Individual Women's World Championship starts at 10.30am from the T.T. Grandstand.

On Saturday, the Women's Trials des Nations begins at the same time and the Men's Trials des Nations takes place on Sunday with the action underway from 8 o'clock.

There are onserved sections in and around Douglas and Onchan at Governor's Bridge dip, Groudle Glen, Groudle headland, Howstrake, White City, Port Jack, Summer Hill Glen, Douglas Promenade, the Villa Marina Gradens and pitlane at the T.T. Grandstand.

A shuttle bus service around the sections will operate on Saturday and Sunday....but not tomorrow.

The Women's World title will be handed over at the Villa Marina this evening along with the opening ceremonies for the Trials des Nations which take place tomorrow and on Sunday. All the top riders in the world will be in the Royal Hall from 7.30pm - admission is free.

Manx girl Saskia Baxter competes tomorrow and Onchan resident and seven time World Champion Dougie Lampkin will showcase his skills on Sunday.

Other World Champions competing are current holder Tony Bou, Adam Raga, Albert Cabestany and Laia Sanz - all from Spain.

This morning, coming in for his early shift, Sports Editor Tim Glover saw Clerk of the Course Ian Murphy inspecting some rather large logs down by the War Memorial on Douglas Promenade:-
