Bacchas A strengthen grip on title

Bacchas A have taken a major step towards retaining the PWC Men’s Premier Division crown.

A 2-1 win over arch rivals Valkyrs A extended their lead at the top of the table to four points and maintained their 100 per cent record.

Tom Wilson and Andy Vernon-Browne put them in front and, although Neil Jacobs reduced the arrears, Bacchas held firm.

A Steven Crowe double ensured Vikings A moved up to third with a 2-1 success over Ramsey A, who replied through Patrick Burton.

Castletown A seem destined for the drop after going down 4-2 to Bacchas B, whose goals were scored by Conor Mayer, Paul Hunter, Tony Bentley-Roberts and Peter Vernon-Browne.

Regular marksmen Paul Kelly and Christian Steriopolous were on target for Town.

Reigning champions Vikings A remain runaway leaders in PWC Women’s Premier Division.

They were given their hardest match of the season but managed to maintain their perfect record with a 2-1 success over Valkyrs A.

The Carney girls, Zoe and Kim, ensured Tams Cleverley’s reply wasn’t enough.

Dani Kelly was the star as Castletown A ran out 5-1 winners over Ramsey A.

She hit four and Hannah Dixon netted the other for Town with Ellen Robinson the Ramsey scorer.

A Claire Louise Lace hat-trick led Bacchas A to a 7-0 win over their B side.

Sosie Cox, Steph Foxton, Chelsea Goulding and Sharon Pope grabbed the others.
