Athletics: Top-20 finish for Lockley with England

Manxman contested Antrim Coast Half Marathon at the weekend

Manx long-distance runner Ollie Lockley sealed a top-20 finish whilst representing England in elite competition in the last week.

Lockley, who currently competes for Leeds City - was part of a six-strong England team taking part in the 2023 Antrim Coast Half Marathon on Sunday, 27 August.

Taking part in the Elite Race, he finished 18th overall in a time of one hour five minutes and five seconds.

He crossed the line as the second-highest English competitor with Omar Ahmed they only one of his teammates to finish ahead of him with Ahmed securing 14th spot.

The overall race winner was Daniel Mateiko of Kenya in 58 minutes 36 seconds whilst Ethiopia's Mestawut Fikir was the first female finisher in one hour six minutes 34 seconds.
