Athletics: Simon Gawne wins End-to-End walk

The event saw 261 people take part

Simon Gawne was crowned the winner of the MFX End-to-End walk at the weekend. 

He won by over 30 minutes in the event on Sunday, 14 September. 

Gawne finished the event in six hours, 29 minutes and 44 seconds. 

David Williams finished in second in seven hours, seven minutes and 28 seconds. 

There was a joint third place finish between Helen Davies and Chris Addy - they both crossed the line in seven hours, 11 minutes and 23 seconds. 

Davies also won the overall women's category. 

This year's event saw 261 people take part.

Starting in the Point of Ayre, the competition saw participants walk the 39.22 mile route to The Sound in at least 10 hours and 30 minutes.
