Athletics: Big IoM medal tally at track & field championships

Manx athletes shine at two-day event in Lancashire

The Isle of Man has taken a big haul of medals during the weekend at the Lancashire Track & Field Championships.

A large contingent of Manx competitors took part in the two-day event which this year was held at Witton Park in Blackburn as the usual venue at Stanley Park in Blackpool was unavailable.

Among the seventeen gold medals the Isle of Man took, Regan Corrin took three golds in the U17 Men's High Jump, Triple Jump and Long Jump whilst Lydia Morris took top spots in the 200 metres and 400 metres in the Senior Women's class.

Elsewhere, Seamus Hall took a trio of silver medals in the U13 Boys 100 metres, 800 metres and Long Jump whilst in the Senior Women's section, Megan Lockwood bagged three bronze medals in the Discus, Javelin and Shot Put.

In total, 44 medals were taken by Isle of Man competitors at the championships - you can see a full list below:
