Alan Founds to make TT return this year

Cheshire sidecar driver was ruled out of 2022 with serious injury

Sidecar racer, Alan Founds, will make his return to the TT races in 2023, it's been announced.

The Cheshire driver will once again partner Jake Lowther on the Spartan Automotive/Indelible Ink LCR Yamaha for the two three-lap races on the Snaefell Mountain Course this year.

Double podium-finisher Founds was forced to withdraw from last year's event after suffering a serious injury at Brands Hatch in April 2022 which ruled him out for the next five months.

This year will mark the fourth year Founds and Lowther have competed together on the Isle of Man - the duo bagged four top-five finishes between 2017 and 2019.

Speaking ahead of his comeback, Founds says 'the bike already feels strong', adding his fitness levels 'are back to what they were in 2019 and the more I drive, the more my confidence will increase'.

The 2023 Isle of Man TT Races are scheduled to take place from Monday, 29 May to Saturday, 10 June.
