Youngsters point lens at global issues

Two Island primary schools have shared first prize in a film-making competition to highlight global development issues.

Anagh Coar and Sulby schools were joint winners of the It's Not Fair short film challenge, run by the One World Centre, Island telecoms firm Sure and home-grown movie enterprise Mannin Shorts.

Youngsters from seven primaries reached the finals evening at the Manx Museum this week, where Lieutenant Governor Adam Wood, patron of the One World Centre, announced the winners.

Anagh Coar's winning entry focused on a child's right to education while Sulby, which won the competition last year, looked at injustice issues around the world and compared their own lives with those of children in less developed countries.
