Would-be mechanics invited to open evening

The Isle of Man Youth Motor Project is holding an open evening today (Thursday), for anybody with a budding interest in cars and motorcycles.

It offers the opportunity to find out about the work the project does, which includes informal tuition in vehicle mechanics, advice on issues affecting young people and the opportunity to learn to ride trials bikes.

It's aimed at young people from school year seven upwards, particularly those in years seven to nine.

Pete Hodgson from the project says it appeals mainly to two different groups of youngsters (play audio file):

The Isle of Man Youth Motor Project is based off Glencrutchery Road in Douglas, behind the St John Ambulance headquarters.

The open evening starts at 6.30pm.
