Works to reduce flooding risk at Rhencullen begin

Scheme to improve drainage expected to take two weeks

Work to reduce the flooding risk on a section of the TT course will get underway this morning.

The Department of Infrastructure has found the existing gullies at Rhencullen aren't able to deal with the water that runs off the nearby hills, making the area prone to flooding during the winter.

Additional drainage will be installed on both sides of the road, which is expected to take two weeks to complete.

The road will remain open throughout, but temporary traffic lights will be in operation 24 hours a day between Kirk Michael village and Bishopscourt.
