Woman pleads guilty to assault

31-year-old in prison until November

A serving prisoner has been told a two-week jail term for assault won't affect her release date later this year.

Thirty-one-year-old Jessica Marguerita Radcliffe of Cushag Road in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse through a video link from the Isle of Man prison.

She pleaded guilty to a single charge of assault on 15 November.

Prosecution advocate Barry Swain told the hearing the incident took place on West Quay in Ramsey after she accused a man of being a paedophile.

Radcliffe, the ex-girlfriend of Jet-ski Romeo Dale McLaughlan, was jailed for eight months earlier this year for causing actual bodily harm, assaulting a police officer and criminal damage after she broke into a woman’s home and attacked her in Port Erin in March.

Mr Swain told the court at around 1:30am on 15 November last year, she hit the man after making the unsubstantiated allegation.

Magistrates imposed a two-week jail term, which will run concurrently with her current sentence.

She's due to be released from prison in November
