Warrant issued for man who allegedly caused dog to suffer

58-year-old failed to attend court

Another warrant has been issued in an attempt to bring a former Island resident back to the Isle of Man to face court proceedings.

David Neil Savage, now of Regent Street in Long Eaton, failed to appear at Douglas Courthouse yesterday (4 July) after being summonsed.

The 58-year-old has been charged with causing unnecessary suffering to an animal on 29 October last year.

It’s alleged he left his dog ‘Murphy’ home alone whilst he travelled off Island without making arrangements for his care; the court has previously been told the dog had to be put to sleep as a result.

Magistrates issued the warrant for his arrest after an earlier warrant, with bail, was unsuccessful.
