Warning over scam social media posts which appear to show connection to Manx Radio

Believed to be start of money-based scam

People are being urged to be aware of fake posts on social media which are purporting to be linked to Manx Radio.

It's understood they are appearing on Facebook with people being invited to phone overseas call centres as a result.

These posts are not from Manx Radio.

One which we’ve been made aware of features a photo of the Chief Minister Alfred Cannan with an invite to answer some questions in a link.

At the end of this so-called survey you will be invited to call a UK mobile phone number - this appears to be the start of a money-based scam.

If you’re using the official Manx Radio Facebook page, you’ll be fine, but in the meantime, please be careful of unexpected posts on your timeline claiming to be from Manx Radio particularly if they ask you to call UK mobile phone numbers.

If you’re not sure of the origin of a post don’t interact with it.
