It took a while but summer finally arrived last month.
After a changeable start, high pressure largely dominated in June, with dry and settled conditions for most of the Island.
The monthly weather review from the Met Office reveals that sunshine totalled 250 hours, which is about 50 hours more than the long term average.
The average daily temperature for June was 17.6 celcius, 1.3 above the long term average.
The warmest and sunniest day was the 18th, with 21.8 celcius recorded at Ronaldsway and 15.7 hours of sunshine.
Interestingly, it was also the windiest day with gusts of up to 37 knots recorded at The average windspeed for the month was 9.1 knots, slightly less than usual.
Nights were unusually balmy, with an average temperature of 11.5 celcius, again 1.3 celcius warmer than normal.
There was just 36.2mm of rain collected in the guages at the Met Office, compared the average of 58.5, there were thunderstorms on June 7th, large showers on the 25th and fog was recorded on the 1st, 2nd and 12th.
