A local advocate is dismissing a claim by an MHK that the United Kingdom's decision to slash the Isle of Man's revenue from VAT amounts to 'the actions of a robber baron state'.
North Douglas member Bill Henderson told Manx Radio it was 'unprecedented' for one nation to reduce another's income by a fifth, and questioned the human rights implications of the move.
But John Wright says that's taking it too far, and going it alone is not an option as far as the collection of VAT is concerned:
