Unconscious man rescued from beach

RNLI, coastguards and paramedics called out to assist

A man's been rescued after being found unconscious on a beach in Douglas.

The RNLI, coastguards and paramedics were all needed to recover the man from Port Skillion just outside Douglas Harbour at around 9.15am on Tuesday morning (27 March).

The Sir William Hillary was deployed but access to the beach was restricted and the lifeboat's daughter boat was required to go ashore and recover the casualty.

He's since been taken to hospital and receiving treatment.

Following the call out, lifeboat mechanic Peter Cowin praised the 'efficient' work of the crew.
