Tynwald committee went beyond its remit says Health Minister

The Health Minister says he and his chief executive were unfairly castigated by a Tynwald committee that ‘went beyond its remit’.

David Anderson was last week told his conduct and integrity were not in doubt but that he had inadvertently misled political colleagues about patient safety at Noble’s Hospital.

According to the Standards and Members Interests committee’s report, Mr Anderson was badly let down by the officers who advised him - and that the chief executive, David Killip, deserved censure.

However, Mr Anderson believes the committee didn't test all the evidence to get a balanced view.
