Tynwald asked to give Corrin Home residents six months' notice

More time needed to consider care facility's future, says Ashford

Tynwald members have been asked to give a minimum notice period to residents of the Corrin Home in Peel of six months 'if necessary', while discussions continue between the DHSC and trustees.

The care facility is set to close at the end of July, leaving its 21 residents to be relocated.

A motion was put by MLC Kate Lord-Brennan at the start of this morning's sitting, in light of a public meeting attended by close to 150 people last night.

She says more could've been achieved with more notice:
