Two treated for smoke inhalation after fire in Douglas

Officers from Douglas Fire Station called to Albany Street

Two occupants of a property in Douglas have been treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation after a blaze at a property in Albany Street.

Two appliances from Douglas Fire Station responded to reports of a structure fire at around 3.15pm yesterday.

On arrival they found smoke to be billowing from a first floor window.

Firefighters entered the property wearing breathing apparatus and the blaze was quickly extinguished using a high pressure hose reel.

Due to the early warning provided by smoke alarms the occupants were able to evacuate before the fire developed. Damage was confined to a small area of the bedroom.
