Transport switch could be 'accident waiting to happen'

MHK claims patients need more than standard service

Ending a long-term association with a transport provider could be an ‘accident waiting to happen’.

So says an MHK who is worried Island hospital patients may not receive the same level of service once Merseyside firm Bridgewater’s contract expires at the end of the month.

Health chiefs have instead appointed a new company to transport locals travelling to the UK for appointments.

Ayre and Michael member Tim Baker says vulnerable patients need more than just a standard service.
