Deputy High Bailiff also issues £1,000 fine
A woman who drove whilst over twice the legal alcohol limit has been disqualified from driving for three years.
Anne Du Toit was also fined £1,000.
The court heard that police stopped Ms Du Toit at 1.40am last Sunday (8th Jan) after seeing her Honda car being driven erratically in the wrong lane on the new Castletown Road. She was stopped and failed a roadside breath test.
Her advocate Jim Travers said Ms Du Toit had made a silly decision to drive after drinking, in order to go to her parents house in Ballasalla where she was looking after their dog. He suggested the offence was totally out of keeping with her good character.
Deputy High Bailiff, Jayne Hughes, accepted this and gave her credit for an early guilty plea.
She told Ms Du Toit that the three year ban was the minimum she could impose in the circumstances and that she would have to take an extended driving test and complete the drink-drive rehabilitation course before getting her licence back
