History & Heritage, Health and Social Care, and Creative Practice affected
The education minister has confirmed three degree courses at University College Isle of Man have been suspended.
Speaking in the House of Keys, Daphne Caine says a decision was taken prior to the Easter break to no longer offer courses in Creative Practice, History and Heritage, and Health and Social Care.
She says it follows a review of application numbers, progression and achievement rates in previous years, and the residential status of applicants:
Onchan MHK Julie Edge says when students already accepted onto the history course were told the degree would no longer be available on-Island, the UCAS application period had already closed, and were told they'd need to 'look off-Island'.
Minister Caine said she hadn't received that information, and asked Ms Edge to pass on her examples to her department.
