Teen accused of TT funfair assault

17-year-old appears at Douglas Courthouse

A teenager from Douglas has appeared in court accused of carrying out an assault at the TT funfair.

Anthony Langley, of Peel Road, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm to the man on 2 June.

He’s also accused of committing an act against public justice by allegedly offering a witness £1,000 to retract their statement.

Committal proceedings – where the case is elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery – will take place on 6 August; bail was granted until the 17-year-old’s next appearance on 25 June.

 

Update: At Douglas Courthouse on 9 July Mr Langley entered a not guilty plea to the offence of assault causing grievous bodily harm. Committal proceedings will now take place on 20 August. 

Update: At Douglas Courthouse on 20 August the teenager was committed to the Court of General Gaol. He will next appear there on 27 September.
