Teares take conservation award

The winners of the 2011 Manx Farm Conservation Award believe their work around the wooded area of Sulby helped them secure the accolade.

The annual award is given out by the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group to reward farmers who combine productive farming with wildlife conservation.

Karen and Henry Teare say those objectives might seem to be in conflict, but with a little thought it is possible to achieve both (listen to audio file below):

The FAWAG is described as '13 organisations working together to secure the future of the Manx countryside'.
