Survey on GCSE replacement 'hugely important'

 

Parents are being urged to take part in what's described by education chiefs as a hugely important consultation on the replacement of GCSE exams in the Isle of Man.

Education and Children Minister Tim Crookall is calling for further submissions to a survey which will help decide which qualifications Island students study for in future.

The consultation has just under two weeks to run and you can take part via gov.im/consultations.

There are several possible routes for the Island as it seeks a replacement for GCSEs, which are soon to be abandoned in England.

Options include adopting a system with modules and coursework, or one in which results based on formal exams only.

Mr Crookall says the level of feedback so far has been very encouraging:
