Gubay estate claims dismissed

Just one claim upheld

The Isle of Man Court has dismissed all but one of six claims made against the late multi-millionaire Albert Gubay.

Peter Willers, a former legal adviser to Mr Gubay, was claiming he was due many millions of pounds from Mr Gubay's estate.

However, he has been awarded just £13,166.20

The executors of the estate say they hope the successful conclusion of an eight year law suit brought by Mr Willers, described as a "protracted and wasteful litigation", will now allow them to focus their energies on Mr Gubay's charitable legacy.

They say they now wish to fulfil their obligations to transfer the maximum amount possible to Mr Gubay's charitable arrangements.

Since Mr Gubay's death in 2016 over £7 million has been given to deserving causes.
