More than 100 police incidents logged during violent storm force winds
Government has now closed the major incident associated with Storm Éowyn.
It was put in place shortly after 11am (Friday, 24 January) due to the number of trees which had fallen around the Island, blocking arterial and access routes for emergency services.
As of 3:30pm some road closures remain in place, and significant debris should be expected across the Island.
Government is continuing to advise people to only travel when necessary and to drive to the conditions if you do need to go out.
Over 100 police incidents were logged during the red weather warning period, between 7am and 2pm today, and at some points more than 30 roads were closed or blocked at any one time.
81mph winds were recorded at the airport, the highest in 20 years, with 94mph recorded at Castletown breakwater and 107mph recorded on Snaefell.
Response teams continue to work tirelessly to keep arterial routes clear, motorists are asked to please be mindful of these workers.
Meanwhile, bus services are returning to the normal Friday timetable after being suspended for most of today.
Bus Vannin says this may take a little time, but it's hoped its services will be fully operational at 4pm.
