Staff shortages lead to reduced hours in Lloyds' pharmacies

Border restrictions mean access to locum pool limited

Almost half of Isle of Man pharmacies will be operating reduced hours for the next three weeks.

Lloyds, which runs 10 of the 23 pharmacies here, ordinarily relies on workers from off-Island.

It's blaming recruitment challenges, border restrictions and a shortage of local staff.

The current border situation means UK locums have to wait 10 days before working in Manx stores as pharmacies are classed as healthcare settings.
