Spacecraft coming to the Island

A former Russian space capsule is to go on show in the Isle of Man later this month in what should be a giant leap forward for the Island's space industry.

Space commerce firm Excalibur Almaz has purchased four capsules and two space stations from the Russians.

The capsules will be refurbished and equipped for a new era of space tourism which could include full orbits of planet Earth.

It's an exciting project for the Manx firm, which has alreaded won a strong reputation in the industry.

The capsule will go on display at King William's College on September 19 and will be open to the public over two weekends.

Tim Craine from the Treasury's Space Commerce Unit says large numbers of school children will be offered a visit to remember:
