Son accused of drunkenly damaging mum's cars

Also alleged to have been abusive in Peel

A man, who's said to have drunkenly damaged two cars at his mother's home, has been remanded in custody.

Connor John Lewis of St German's Place in Peel appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse via a live video link from police headquarters.

He faces two charges of criminal damage, but hasn't yet entered pleas to them.

Prosecution advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the court Mr Lewis went to his mother's house on Albany Road in Peel at around 1am on 22 August.

The hearing was told Mr Lewis is alleged to have been drunk and abusive when he demanded to be let into the house.

When his mother refused, he's said to have picked up a plant pot and thrown it though the windscreen of a white Ford pickup truck, causing £300 worth of damage.

He's then said to have damaged his mother's Citroen C3 with a shingle.

Mr Lewis was remanded in custody, and will appear in court again on 1 September.
