Smoke free prison plans well advanced

The Government says that preparations to make the new jail at Jurby a
totally smoke free area have been underway for months.

The whole Island is due to have indoor smoking restrictions introduced from next week.

A former prisoner says cigarettes play an important part in day to day existence 'inside':

It is estimated that the vast majority of prisoners in the Island do smoke. There will be nicotine replacement therapy available.
