Six people stable in hospital following this morning's crash in Foxdale

Six people remain in hospital following a two vehicle crash on the Foxdale Road this morning (Thurs)

It happened around 10.50am at the junction with Ballahig farm on the St Johns to Foxdale Road and involved a blue Peugeot van and a black Ford Focus car.

Fire crews had to use cutting equipment to help free the driver and passenger of the van.

The driver and three children in the Focus were helped from the car and all six were taken to Nobles hospital, some by helicopter.

Some of their injuries are reported to be serious but it's understood none are life threatening and all are said to be in a stable condition.

Officers and fire crew spent several hours investigating the incident and clearing the crash site.

Inspector Derek Flint says emergency services have been stretched
