
Mercer says important to remember policy originates in HoK
An MLC who is hoping to retain his seat in the upcoming Legislative Council election says it’s important to remember that policy originates in the House of Keys.
Rob Mercer is one of 15 people aiming to secure a seat in next month’s vote.
His term of office will come to an end on 28 February; the election will take place on 4 March.
He says although the role isn’t as public facing as that of MHK, members of the public still hold MLCs to account:
