Single largest seizure of Class A drugs ever recorded

Police arrest four men after heroin and cocaine discovery

Police say they’ve seized up to £750,000 worth of heroin and cocaine.

The Isle of Man Constabulary says it’s the single largest seizure of Class A drugs ever.

Two kilos of heroin and 1.25 kilos of cocaine were recovered following four arrests made on Sunday (22 October) in Douglas.

Three men have been charged with drugs offences and will appear at Douglas Courthouse tomorrow (25 October); two are Manx residents and the other is from Merseyside.

One man has been released on bail pending further investigation.

A spokesperson for the Isle of Man Constabulary said: 'We will be relentless in our pursuit of organised crime groups in the UK, particularly in Merseyside, who seek to import drugs to our Island.

'We will disrupt criminality on The Isle of Man to dismantle any networks at the earliest opportunity.

'This is not a victimless crime as these criminals will target vulnerable people and exploit them.

'We know that organised crime such as this is intrinsically linked to the violence, exploitation and anti-social behaviour which blights our communities.

'It is therefore right that we target those individuals and bring them to justice.'
