Simon Andrews' mum pays tribute to 'Shoey'

On the morning many locals and visitors remember her son and other fallen road racers and motorcycle riders, Simon Andrews' mother has paid tribute to a popular competitor killed yesterday.

Dee Andrews is in the Isle of Man for the Simon Andrews Legacy Lap, which saw well over one thousand bikers set off from the TT Grandstand at 10am.

Paul Shoesmith was killed in a crash during last night's practice session.

A well-known and popular character in the paddock, Dee says 'Shoey' also did a lot of great work and fundraising for the injured riders' charity set up in Simon's memory, in addition to helping her son in the early stages of his career:
