Gates and fence targeted
Police are investigating what they say is significant damage to an upland track.
It's on a trail in Glion Gill plantation in the west of the Island.
Gate closing posts of three large locked gates were smashed and fencing was damaged.
It happened some time between the 5 and 16 May.
PC Mark Kerruish, the wildlife crime officer, says it looks as though a four-wheel drive has been used to pull the gate posts over.
The vehicle looks to have got onto the track from Brandywell Road.
The area, which is owned by the Forestry Division of the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture, is popular with walkers and in particular mountain bikers due to it being part of the annual end-to-end challenge.
PC Kerruish says similar damage has occurred on three other occasions over the past five years.
