Several roads to close for surface dressing

Preparation for maintenance work gets underway tomorrow

A number of busy roads on the Isle of Man will close over the next few days as part of a road maintenance programme.

Surface dressing, where chippings are adding to the top of the road surface in a bid to prolong its life, is being carried out on several major routes.

Tomorrow (9 July) Shore Road in Gansey, Vicarage Road in Douglas and Whitebridge Road in Onchan will all close between 6am and 6pm, while South Quay in Douglas shuts after 6pm.

On Wednesday, there'll be daytime closures on the Shoulder Road and Patrick Road, while Thursday sees the Sartfell Road at Brandywell and the Andreas Road close.

Poortown Road in the west of the Island and Blackberry Lane in Onchan close on Friday.

This week's closures are all to allow the surface layer of the roads to be prepared for surface dressing, with further closures to follow later in the month.
