Police warn officers are on patrol

The Mountain Road has now reopened after it was closed this morning (28 May) due to fog after one rider came off in the poor visibility.

Police say 'serious care needs to be taken' along the route as there are still areas of standing water, and conditions are still damp.

Officers will be on patrol to monitor people's manner of driving with the constabulary adding "please don't give them cause to stop you".

A decision on whether the second day of TT action for 2024 will go ahead will be made later this afternoon.

The qualifying session is due to take place this evening with roads around the Snaefell Mountain Course due to close at 6pm and reopen by 9:30pm.

The Clark of the Course is due to issue an update at 3pm.

UPDATE 3PM: Qualifying session is currently set to go ahead as scheduled this evening.
