'Awful message' scrawled on box dedicated to Island's LGBTQ+
A post box at the Sea Terminal, dedicated to Isle of Pride, has been vandalised.
The Isle of Man Post Office redecorated the box in rainbow colours in support of the Island's LGBTQ+ community in June 2021, the year of the first Pride festival here.
Over the weekend black writing appeared on the box, which reads 'Don't promote Evil!'.
In turn, a 'Have a Gay Day' sticker has been placed over part of the writing.
"A sad day" - a picture of the defaced post box appeared on social media over the weekend.
It’s a sad day, more targeting of the LGBTQ+ people on the Isle of Man. A post box painted in rainbow to celebrate our islands first pride festival has been defaced with a awful message. pic.twitter.com/ZoPXl3MAOA

The Department of Infrastructure says it has secured CCTV footage and will be passing it over to the police.
The Isle of Man Post Office has been contacted for comment.
