Salisbury Street beds 'in profit'

75% above threshold needed

Government representatives say the 40 beds 'blocked' for public sector use at Salisbury Street Nursing Home in Douglas are, at present, running at a profit.

The facility has been very much under the media spotlight recently, and was discussed during a public committee hearing on Monday (26).

Departing MLC Michael Coleman said "there's been some press recently on Salisbury Street" and asked the Chief Minister to "clarify that position".

Political Member at the Health Department Jason Moorhouse MHK was also at the gathering.

Mr Quayle and Mr Moorhouse said they're above the 75 per cent threshold needed to break even.
