Sainsbury's to replace Waitrose and Iceland at Shoprite

Around 3,000 products to be stocked in Manx stores

Sainsbury's products will be on sale in Shoprite from next year.

The retailer has confirmed a new long term supply agreement with the UK supermarket, to begin in January 2020.

The deal will see around 3,000 own brand products stocked in Manx stores, including from the free from and organic ranges.

The Sainsbury's range will replace Waitrose and Iceland, who have supplied Shoprite for more than 20 years.

In a statement, Shoprite described it as "an exciting new and exclusive supply agreement."

The statement says: "We are excited to announce a new long term supply agreement with Sainsbury’s.

"Sainsbury’s will provide us with a wide selection of around 3,000 quality own brand products and a significantly enhanced range that our loyal customers won’t be able to find anywhere else on the Island.

"Sainsbury’s are renowned for their product quality and own brand range including:

  • by Sainsbury’s
  • SO Organic
  • Deliciously Free From
  • Taste the Difference

"We will begin stocking this range during January 2020 which will replace Waitrose and Iceland who have served our customers and our business well for over 20 years.

"There is no further comment at this time however we will update you as we progress."
